Please join us for the 2014 VMN Conference at the Virginia Living Museum in Newport News, Virginia, September 26-28, 2014. Our hosts, the Peninsula and Historic Rivers chapters, have put together a great program full of field trips, workshops, and presentations. Have you ever wanted to take a guided tour of the Dismal Swamp? Learn about the natural history of New Quarter Park from a kayak? Hear Art Evans speak on his “Inordinate Fondness for Beetles”? Now’s your chance! Click the button below to view additional conference details and to register. If you have any questions, please email Tiffany Brown. We look forward to seeing many of you there!

How is the public informed that the state conference is for members only. I just linked to the site from our new chapter FB page and the conference registration is quite prominent.
In the past, registration has been open to anyone interested in participating or learning more about the program. We rarely receive registrations from non-members (1-3 per year). If the conference fills this year, we may need to revisit this policy due to space limitations and growing interest in the program.
When will there be a decision made about whether the conference is open to non members? I also need to find out what activities I signed up for when I registered
A sincere thanks to the Historic Rivers and Peninsula Chapters for hosting the annual conference. The walks and talks were great and we had a blast. We’ll definitely be back down to explore your corner of the state again.

Many thanks to our host chapters for a fantastic conference and for the introduction to the Va. Living Museum!
Laura Greenleaf, Riverine Chapter, Richmond.
Has a date and location been decided for a 2015 conference ?
The date has not been set. This year, we will be hosting four regional events instead of one statewide event. We will get details out as soon as they become available
