Nine Virginia Master Naturalist Chapters Now Accepting Applications for Spring Volunteer Trainings

Virginia Master Naturalists learn about Virginia’s natural resources, including woods, wildlife, and water, and conduct volunteer work to benefit those resources. These volunteers have just completed an annual butterfly count in Albemarle County parts and natural areas.

Are you interested in nature and wanting to volunteer to benefit the woods, wildlife, and waters of Virginia?  Eight of our VMN chapters are now accepting applications for their training courses for new volunteers starting in January or February.  See their websites for more information.  Some of the courses do fill quickly, so be sure to apply in advance.

VMN Program Featured on Virginia Tech’s Home Page

This week, you’ll notice a familiar program when you visit Virginia Tech’s home page.  The Virginia Master Naturalist program is featured as one of three spotlight stories that will rotate on the University’s homepage for a period of three weeks.  The article itself,Virginia Master Naturalists serve as stewards, teachers, and citizen scientists, will remain on the VT website indefinitely.
