Participatory Science

WHAT WE DO

Chapter Leadership

Virginia Master Naturalists lead the delivery of the program in their local communities by serving on their chapters' boards and committees, recruiting and training volunteers, and organizing service projects and partnerships.

Volunteer leaders in the Rivanna Master Naturalist chapter have organized 19 annual VMN basic training courses, graduating more than 400 people as VMN volunteers. 38th Annual Fall Forestry and Wildlife Tours

This fall the Virginia Forest Landowner Education Program and Virginia Cooperative Extension (a VMN program sponsor) are hosting the 38th Annual Fall Forestry & Wildlife Field Tours. On these tours, you will learn about sustainable forest and wildlife management on public, private and industry owned lands. This year’s tour schedule is as follows:

·         September 29-30 – Chesapeake Bay Fall Forestry & Wildlife Bus and Boat Tour
·         October 10 – Halifax County Fall Forestry & Wildlife Field Tour
·         October 30 – Grayson-Carroll Counties Fall Forestry & Wildlife Field Tour
